Cold start surge

Usually on a cold start, it starts fine, but has a subtle like, sputter, delay, or cutout type of thing. When beginning to take off, and stepping on it, it has like a void spot, and bucks just a bit. I replaced the TPS, but of no help.
Any other thoughts, ideas, or suggestions?

ECT sensor may be going out, not sender, sensor

Also clean MAF sensor, always, if engine bucks or delays

I also have some play with the throttle cable at the top of the pedal inside the cab. If I push the top of the pedal ahead, I have about 5/8" of play between the stop on the end of the cable, and the front side of the pedal.
Have cleaned the MAF sensor.

I put a couple of these between the end stop on the cable, and the front side of the gas pedal. Worked pretty good.

Its called "Ranger Throttle cable mod",, lead weights are a good idea, most use a few Zip Ties

I just crimped them on with a Vise Grip.
