Have 94 ranger .friend hooked battery up backwards .. replaced fuses getting fire to the coil .But no farther what to do.?turns over but wont start.

When you turn on the key you should hear the fuel pump run for 2 seconds, each time you turn key from OFF to RUN, so repeat as much as you want to confirm you hear the in tank fuel pump running, it is not quiet, loud HUMMMMM...........so turn down the radio and listen, lol.

If you don't hear it then you missed a fuse or fried a Relay, fuel pump fuse, 30amp, and fuel pump Relay are in the engine fuse box

Does the CEL(check engine light) come on when key is on?
That means computer is getting power

You can also check if any one of the fuel injectors is getting power when key is on, either wire on a fuel injector should show 12volts with key on
