2002 Ranger XL 4X2, 2.3L DOHC, 5spd Manual - 127,410 Miles.

It's never missed a beat yet, and that's with running 5.13 gears since the truck had 80,000 miles on it!

seeing these upper 20s out of the 2.3 makes me wish i woulda found one ... but my 2.5 isnt a bad truck either and from what i understand has a little bit more low end torque.

My 94 ranger had 300,000kms on her when she got totalled. Used 6 liters of oil a week, and ran on 3cyl's (compression test verified one cyl was almost totally dead) it just wouldnt die.

2.3L Lima, 5 speed

With 31"s I could do 18-20 city and 26 hwy..

Now at 65k, I can do 23 city, and 35 hwy.. I need to do more hwy to verify..

My last tank, ******* the hell out of it, mixed highway and city driving, with 69XXXmiles, average highway speeds of 75+mph.........
28.68mpg.
FTW.
Drive your 4.0 like I drive, or just keep up with me, and see if you still get a "best" of 24.9. Then I'll follow you while you get your best, and we'll see what I get when I actually slow down.

Damn That's good mileage, especially for going 75 mph. I really need to start a full tank to get my mpg, hopefully I can get close to that since I'm pretty easy on the pedal.

Anyways, I've only got 96,750 on the odo so far, from what I've heard about these 2.3 motors thats only breaking it in :)

95 5 spd 4 banger xlt 178k but like 3 more things just crapped the bed on it, alternator seized, serpentine belt puly broke and one of the radiator pipes was rusted out but they were all stock and origanal so im suprised they lasted 13 years, so im replacing all that as we speak. bringing it back to life! should be back home in like a day, plus it was my first truck handed down to me by my dad, have had it since i was a little kid lots of memories in it and i dont want to see it die. so im bringing it back to life! long live the 4 banger 95!!! plus it will be a good little project truck for me too.... i cant let it go :(
also i think i average about 28 mpg in it city, but for some reason my 02 v6 5spd gets the same gas millage? dont know whats up with that, manuals must be really good... the 95 should be a nice little street truck.

'02 5spd 2.3L with ~112k.

Not sure on the mpg specifics, but mid-20's and I drive like its my 4.0 (gotta shift 'around 3500-4k usually to get the power output as I'm used to with the 4.0).
