I was gonna do the snorkel delete mod today but when I went to do it I couldnt find the snorkle so I just figured that it wasnt on my year ranger or something. But anyways I took the intake off and noticed this thing shaped like a rocket cone in the tube but I couldnt figure out a way to remove it. So is this another little mod or is it somethin i should leave alone? If you need pics i can get em in the morning when its light out.

 

I think your bodystyle 4 cyl. has the same intake design as the 94-04 mustangs, which are odd looking.. i'd just fab up or buy an intake kit if I were you.

it comes out of the bottom of the airbox towards the front of the vehicle. there is a rectangle shaped splash shield that is above it and is held in with two plastic clips that will simply pull out. You can see the intake tube if you remove your airfilter, half of it goes into the airbox.
