Icon4 The MPG of my 2.3, puzzles me!!!

So I did a tune up last night. Oil, Oil Filter, PCV valve, Air filter, and the most fun....the 8 spark plugs!!! Its the little 2.3(ofc, as i said 8 plugs), and i was curious of something. Shouldnt i be getting around 24-26 ish MPG with the small motor, od auto tranny, the 3.73's, and factory size tires??? I havent went through a full tank yet, but ive only got about 130 miles out of a half tank.

My driving habit thus far: Mostly around town, back and forth to school this week.
Thanks

first problem... 3.73 gears... my 2.3L came with 3.23 that helped ... 2nd problem auto trans... you can pull better mpg out of manuals...

when my truck was stock for like 1 month... i was getting easy 25mpg.. now with 32's and 3.73 gears i am around 19-21 and thats city driving

130 miles on 1/2 tank around town is not too bad. finish off the tank and when you refill calculate the mileage then. you should be somewhere around 20mpg. I get 26 on my 2.5/5 speed with 80% highway driving

130 to half a tank, I am getting like 130 to a full tank.

Just because it needs some work done to it. Dont know what is wrong with it so far like dead cylinders nad injectors or what.

I'm getting around 160 to a half tank with my setup, which usually ends up being 19mpg at the end of the tank. Something sounds off, it could just be the fuel level sensor. You'll find out after you calculate your mileage.

all 4cyl have 7.5 all 4.0L have 8.8...

way to just be immature and drop name calling... braking the site rules... good job, i didnt resort to any of that.. just stated facts but you just showed what level you are on...

No, im only 17! But a guy that works with my step dad (who claims to know everything) was working on a 90's toyota, 4x4. Some teeth were missing off of the back ring gear, and he had a front axle laying around. So he tried to interchange, and no work.

First off, you can't use the gauge to figure mileage as they all read differently anyway. The only way to know your mileage is to note your mileage when you fill the tank, run it down, then not the miles you've traveled and the gallons you fill when you run the tank all the way down.

You actually have no idea whatsoever of your miles-per-gallon yet. Do the numbers then ask about it.
