Ranger 94 2.3 started backfiring got worse now wont hardly start wen it starts hit on

Hits on on 2 or 3 cylinders *ts the one withiit cam sensor ecu was checked good replaced atc senser now replacing brain and tps senser wen i took off the throttle asembly the rubber bose wer vacum was hooked up was rottengoing to replace went to canister under batery and the plastic vacum line had a whole in it already fixed both would that be the reason of it running like crap 2.3 95,000 actual miles wen i bought it had 81,000 actual miles and ran perfect until started backfiring its got new plugs and coil packs but i havent tryed to start after fixing vacum leak and put tps senser and new brain do you all think the vacum leak was the problem ?

Welcome to the forum

No, not a "brain" problem.

1994 spark is run by the ICM(ignition control module) located on the front of the lower intake, these did have issues, but can be tested at most auto parts stores.

These Lima engines use a Timing Belt, which needed to be changed at 80k or so miles
If you don't know when it was last changed then it could have stretched and has now slipped so cam and crank are out of time.

Compression test will tell if that happened or if a valves rocker has slipped off, another issue with these engines.
