So my rear brakes are pretty seized up. With that being said tomorrow I will be replacing rotors, calipers and pads because of how rusted they are. Not to mention they kind of rattle. I was checking them out today just because I'm paranoid and noticed some fluid coming out of a 3/8 hose. I'm assuming it has something to do with my brakes being seized but I'm not sure. Check out the photo I took. I'm also considering doing a flush on the diff at this point. Any idea what this may be ?
Vent is most likely blocked, follow the hose up and check it, there should be a filter on the end of it so bugs or mud can't clog it
The differential oil heats up and expands and then cools down and contracts, so air needs to be vented out during heat up and let back in during cool down, that's what the vent is for
If its clogged then the air could come come out at the vent hose to axle nipple connection, oily air
You have a 2010-2012 Ranger, they were the only years with rear disc brakes, and that pictures looks like older truck, from the rust, lol.

Thanks for the welcome and the quick reply! Yeah it is a 2011, however I am also in upstate NY which doesn't help the rust situation. So based on what you're saying, my brakes being shot and making a clunk whenever I press them(because their essentially frozen) has nothing to do with that leak, could just be a coincidence. I will check it and see if it is clogged!
So I just got home from work and checked out the rear axle. Looks like my differential cover gasket is shot. Oil is coming out of there. Not sure if this was caused by my initial issue or if the bad gasket caused the initial issue. I will be ordering a new differential cover and gasket asap.
