I was wondering if i can just delete the cat on my ranger i was wondering if it would cause and fuel air problems or something but i don't think it would with a obd1 system but ill leave it up to the people who know and where i live there are no emission testing so im not worried about that or it being illegally i just want to know if it would cause any problems

1994 was the last year you could do it "morally", so yes you can delete Cat without effecting engine operation.
1995 and up had an O2 sensor added after Cat converter to test if it was working, so you would get a CEL(check engine light) if it was removed, it still didn't effect engine operation, but now CEL is on full time so if there was an engine/computer problem you wouldn't know about until it started to effect operation

Exhaust has a toxic gas, a few of them, lol, Cat helps clean that up, so morally its best to run with working Cat.

Federally you are required to have a working Cat, so applies in any state, $2,500 max. fine if caught.
Auto Repair shops can't work on any vehicle that has Cat removed, $25,000 max. fine for for a shop if they do, I don't think they are required to report it, but can't say for sure
