Is this a thrown piston rod?

So I bought this 1989 2.3 liter ranger a number of years ago. Curious if anyone can tell from the crack in the front of the oil pan what happened? Could the entire engine be shot? Unfortunately, it does not turn over so my guess is they drove it until it seized? The 5speed manual is likely okay. So at least I might be able to sell a few parts, then scrap it?

Yes, that crack could be from a connecting rod sent down to the bottom of pan with piston under alot of force, lol

So yes, blown engine, in the bad meaning of that word
