1986 2.9 with Dual Tank fuel line issue

Hello craftsmen,

I have a 1986 2.9 with dual tanks. I saw this morning that I have a leak in my fuel line. Best as I can tell, It's coming from this round plastic piece in the system that seems to take in the lines from both tanks. This is a circular plastic piece just behind (south) of the tank to the rear of the passenger area. I don't know if it's cracked, or if there's a seal. Right now, I'm pretty gimped up for going to the boneyard, and doing some house sitting that makes it hard to repair on the fly. I'd like to know if anyone can direct me to an aftermarket solution... I don't even know what to call this darn thing. If you can help, it would be very much appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

Tony

How many miles? Don't know what it is? Is a picture possible?
Anything you'd be able to buy would have to be competently installed.
Is piping to a fuel filter involved?
35 year old stuff....DON'T PATCH.....GO CLEAN SWEEP
Go to a garage. Ask 'em if they'll repair a fuel line. MUCH Faster, MUCH cheaper, probably better and IMMEASURABLY safer.

Thanks. I put the engine in this truck and have been all through the fuel system. If I can get the canister I'm talking about, I can install it. Too dark at this point for a pic; I'll provide one for those who follow as it may help them. I'm hoping that somebody who's traveled this road before knows what I'm talking about. Seems that the books I have don't have too many details on dual fuel tank systems and it makes searching for an after-market piece a challenge.

Hey Super. Dude. That's it, the second piece, I believe. I had this "reservoir" out one time, and no filter. I can't thank you enough!

I am having the same issue. Did you order the part with or without the filter. The "A" part without the filter is what I need (99%) sure and it is out of stock. I can't find it anywhere.

I ordered the part with the filter from LMC. It never came (they sent it to the wrong address). I was blessed by finding a nearly new one at the bone yard... couldn't driving a bomb, ya know. So, L&M should be able to help you. BTW, I have had the similar looking part that switches between tanks (the similar looking part closest to the rear tank), apart. It had no filter. I hope this helps.
