1987 RANGER NEWBIE
Hello Gentlemen,
I'm recently the proud owner of a 1987 Ford Ranger 2.9 4x2, Auto Trans, w/ AC. I bought this car for $1,500.00 bucks, supposedly a Georgia ranch truck with roughly 130,000 miles. I know almost nothing about fixing cars. Sadly not even some of the basic parts.I did purchase the 19877 RANGER/BRONCO shop manual, which answers most of my questions... but assumes the reader knows basic parts, I don't.
1. What is the small radiator in front of my larger radiator? I've heard it's the transmission cooler or the a/c condenser, does anyone know?
2. The engine is leaking gasoline, slowly, from a cylinder shaped object attached to the fuel line. Possibly the Fuel Injection Pressure Regulator?
3. Can someone give me a simple way to depressurize the fuel system so I can replace it. I've located the shrader valve, but not the fuse for the fuel pump.
Thank you...My brain hurts.

1. A/C condenser and Power steering cooler
2.yes, Pressure Regular. Be careful installing new, don't pinch the O ring.
3. Shutoff is to disconnect the green relay at the passenger side engine compartment under the hood while the engine is running. The engine will run out of fuel and the line will depressurize. Don't reconnect until you have installed the valve.

+1 ^^^ great answers to your questions
And welcome to the forum
Some times a special tool is needed to release the fuel line on the fuel pressure regulator
Tool is seen here: https://www.ranger-forums.com/2-9l-3...emoval-150194/
