1994 A4LD into a 1989 Ranger?

My 1989 Ford Ranger 2.9 v6 has a bad automatic transmission. I can get my hands on a 1994 b4000 A4LD that blots to a 4.0 and i believe both blocks are the same...Will I have any problems swapping them? Will it bolt right on? Anything electrical I have to worry about???

Yes it would be fine to do that swap

No issues except the usual "used transmission" issues that come up

You can, for sure, but best practice is to replace it

If old trans pan had ANY metal debris in it, or the fluid, then for sure replace it

If no debris then try to drain as much old fluid out of it as possible, also drain/bow out the trans cooler lines as much as possible
