3.0 EGR Delete?

Hey guys, my EGR tube has a hole in it and I've heard a few things about getting rid of the egr but I can't find a specific thread on it.

What do you think is a better option, 1) just replace the egr tube or 2) egr delete?

Also where could I find the egr tube, and how much do they usually go for?

Thanks!

Throttle response improved slightly after deleting the EGR on my 99', I did pick up a very slight ping while climbing hills (the composite upper cured this). Overall power wasn't affected for better or worse due to the delete.

If you decide to replace the tube, I have one off my truck. Tube is in great shape, the threads on the manifold side nut need cleaned up a bit.

How much would you want for it?

Is your 3.0 the Flex Fuel?

If it is, then a slight ping with that would mean no ping with a regular 3.0, right?

My truck is flex fuel.

I doubt it, there isn't any internal difference with the standard and flex 3.0's. Compression is the same.

Well, as for the slight pinging while going uphill, do you think the phenolic/plastic/whatever he's gonna make it out of intake spacer will cure that even on an aluminum intake? (the one that the sickranger is bringing to market)

variable valve timing? Never heard of a Vulcan being equipped with that.

Anyhow, what year is your Mazda pick-em-upper?

I removed the EGR valve, tube that goes to the DS ex manifold, DPFE, EGR solenoid near the back/center of the manifold, and corresponding vacuum lines. No tune yet to properly delete the EGR, no CEL because the light in the dash doesn't work. Truck runs great, good power and no pinging. Been averaging 20-21mpg mixed and hit 23mpg highway recently driving with a lead foot.

I deleted the EGR as part of the composite upper intake swap I did recently.
