3.0 liter oil pan gasket

hi, i have a significant leak where i lose about 1 quart of oil in a 20 mile drive. the truck is a 1992 model that has been well serviced, with 200k miles. when it is parked, there is a descent plate sized pile under the engine, but losing a quart over 20 miles makes me believe it is pouring out more when running. there are signs of oil leaking on the engine, just cant pinpoint where i think this major leak is. i do see where the oil pan gasket has slippped out in front and oil leaking above it too, maybe front seal. question is, do i have to remove the engine to replace the oil pan gasket or can i cheat it in. if it can be cheated in, can somebody help me know how to do that, or point me to a link if it has been discussed on this forum before. Thanks!

Start with the most likely area.
Remove the oil filter and check for an extra gasket stuck to the block.

Well, I carried the truck to the shop (scared to attempt it on my own). They were able to loosen the engine from the motor mounts and jack the engine up enough to get the oil pan down enough to install a new gasket. that fixed the problem.
