The truck is going into the shop to have the automatic removed, and a M5OD installed, woohoo! While the trans is out, can the oil pan be removed easily? Or does the engine still have to be lifted off the frame, or the front axle dropped down?

Its got 250k on but runs good, figure I might as well replace the rear main and oil pan gasket at this time, keep it a little cleaner until the engine finally dies in another 100k or so

 

You can lift the engine or drop the front drive.
