'99 3.0 Oil pan gasket change

So mine's slipped out in the front and in need of changing; yes it leaks. Has anyone changed theirs without having to remove the engine or even lift the engine? I was personally thinking of just getting under the truck, dropping the pan as far as it will go without hoisting or lifting anything, which seems to be lol, an inch or two and just run the new gasket around the pan. If the oil pump were to get in the way I would try to work the gasket in and around it or just cut it and seal the cut part with RTV sealent. Thoughts, comments are much appreciated. Thanks. Yes I'm going the cheap route. I just payed for classes this semester and need money for books and don't know anyone with an engine hoist I can borrow so $25+ for parts and free labor is all i am able to afford right now.

I've heard that sometimes if the old one has slipped out, you can just loosen the bolts a little and slide it back in. You may try that first.

Well if that's the case, why and how did it slip out? Could it be the cause of something else I'm not aware of and need to fix?

I have a 2003 Edge with a 3.0L and torsion bar suspension. Mine came off with no problems. I was able to completely remove it. You do have to take the starter off. If you have coil spring suspension then you have to raise the engine 2-3 inches.
