Mass Air Flow?

Alright I have been wondering for awhile now if I should be looking into upgrading my mass air flow sensor now that I have my K&N Intake system, I see that these little fellas cost a bit of coin, so before I went out and spent some money on this I thought I should check with my fellow rangers, so is it worth it?

Any horse/torque gain?
Any better fuel mileage?
Which model/brand best preforms?

not worth it. to take advantage of something like that, youd need at least a bigger throttle body an exhaust and a tune. still wouldnt be worth it. thats something you would do after doing engine work.

are you talking about the housing? or the sensor? because I havent heard of a larger MAF sensor.... but with my larger MAF housing it has increased top end some and in the mpg dpt. But you will need a tune for a bigger housing, if you dont the truck will start up fine and then choke down due to too much air being drawn through the intake. I got mine from Underdog, check out his website http://stuffforyourranger.com/store/

The one from Ford Motor Company. I never heard anything good about aftermarket MAFS. From what i heard, they actually cost you power. I'm sure with a proper tune that it could be beneficial, but for you it wouldn't be worth it.

Don't do it.

Just mod it like I said. I modded mine, no issues whatsoever and it's taking it a considerable amount more air.

Have you found a reall increase with the old MAF body and the new air intake? I had not gotten one because I figured the MAF body would be a bottleneck and so the air intake would not help.

n/m I just did a search and found an old link! I'm going to buy a back-up MAF before I attempt this mod, I like the sounds of this though!
