3rd blown head gasket

well my ranger has blown its 3rd head gasket since i've owned it. Currently the truck has 140k miles on it and I have replaced a head gasket 50k miles ago and 30k miles ago, although i'm not sure which side corresponds with the replacements. Heads were both shaved when replaced. This time it appears to be a cylinder 3 misfire and have water vapor/water coming out of the exhaust. Not sure if it is worth it to get the head rebuilt again or get a remanufactured engine and start fresh. any suggestions?

I'd do what I could to figure out why they blew in the first place. Are the heads cracking, maybe the gasket wasnt installed correctly? (highly doubt it if you got that many miles out of it) Either way, triple check your cooling system, especially for blocked passages.

Mine blew 3 times also, i went to a larger engine. But it seems once it blows once its an ongoing problem. Mine blew twice from two separate bad water pumps and once from a radiator cracking. I just got sick of it after I replaced them the second time and it blew a week later.

My truck had 132k when it happened last.
