94’ 3.0 shuts off at stops occasionally and hesitant to go

Having issues with my ranger shutting off occasionally at stop lights or signs, seemingly from if I’ve braked a little to hard and when that isn’t the issue I’m having trouble with my truck hesitating to kick into gear, high revs for about 3 pushes of the throttle and then it’ll peel the tires and go

I am assuming an Automatic transmission?

+1 on above response, check and/or change filter and fluid
Delay in forward or Reverse engagement can mean lower pressure in transmission

Try shifting in to Neutral while still rolling to a stop to see if that prevents stalling
If engine still stalls then clean IAC Valve
Check spark timing as well
