99 ranger O2 sensor downstream problems need help
Drive shaft hooked wires and pull them out of the downstream O2 sensor now it won't run rough idles won't pull out of tracks . Replace O2 sensor still no luck
The downstream O2 sensor doesn't affect performance, it's only job is to monitor if catalytic convertor is functioning, truck will run just fine without the downstream sensor, it would just turn on check engine light.
You'll need to follow the wires back into the harness and see what other wires in the harness were damaged.

Each O2 sensor uses 4 wires, they come with new O2 sensor in different lengths, thats the part number difference because O2s are universal, no difference between upstream or downstream
2 wires are used for 12v/ground for the heater inside each O2 sensor
2 wires are use for the "sensor" part inside each O2
1999 Ranger downstream O2 should use these 4 wire colors
Heater
Light blue/orange stripe - 12v for heater(key on) << check fuse 13 in ENGINE FUSE BOX, this may be blown if wires shorted, and that can cause running issues
White/black - ground for heater
sensor
Red/light green - signal to computer
Orange - reference ground from computer
