About to see if she starts. HELP PLS

So my truck has been sitting a long time (over a year) and I finally got the engine back together. Is there anything that I should do BEFORE I try that first crank? Any suggestions??

Disable spark, unplug coil pack's 4 wire connector
Or disable fuel pump, pull out fuel pump relay, or fuel pump fuse

You don't need to have cooling system full

Assuming new oil and new oil filter
Crank engine over for 5 second 2 or 3 times
Look underneath, no oil dripping out, lol

Reconnect spark or fuel
Start engine
Run at about 1,000RPM, high idle, it should do this on its own
make sure oil gauge came up
Any "ticking" noises means oil pressure is low
Shut off after 30-60seconds

Finish up cooling system so engine can run longer next time

Thanks for that, this is my first engine that I have actually completed fully and reinstalled. It's making me nervous to even try and crank it lol. I keep going threw everything all the time making sure I covered everything. Trying to do all my research as much as I can find every step of the way.

No
You can do a compression test on 1 or 2 cylinders just to make sure you have timed the crank and cam correctly

But I would just crank it to get oil circulated, then try to start it
