acts like truck is running hot but gauge says its no

My truck has been acting like its been running hot but the gauge says no. My gauge is good and i changed the t-stat already but still doin the same thing. Fan is running and the pump is working. I did install the t-stat right also i have no clue. Could the egr valve cause this? check engine light is on for that egr valve.

so you have a CEL for something and you replaced something else hoping it would go away? Interesting.

found the problem thanks to a buddy of mine. It was an air pocket i had got from changing my t-stat and radiator
