ranger acts like it is flooding at stop lights

Hey, all. I recently acquired a 1994 ranger 3.0 engine. To give the full story, I have driven it many times without incident, but 3 times I have stopped at the same light about half a mile from my house. When I stop, it acts fine, but when I take my foot off of the brake and hit the gas, it immediately dies. I try to start it, but it just turns over without firing. After about 45 minutes, it starts up and drives fine. Before I take the bed off and start poking around at the fuel pump, I wanted to see if anyone knew what was going on. It is very particular about when it cuts out. Less than a mile from my house. I have taken it on long drives and had no problem. Any gurus on the message board have a couple pennies to throw at me?

Clean your IAC (Idle air control valve) with throttle body cleaner and start from there.
