Aftermarket Coil for 3.0L V6
Hello Everybody
I am trying to install a aftermarket coil in my 2008 Ranger, and found that plug configuration has a different type of 4 prong connector. My current one has thinner prongs, and a bit closer together. The aftermarket coil they are wider. Anybody know which connector I have to get to wire on to my harness?
Also the wires are as follows. from the front to back. Black, White, Yellow, Black.
Which is 12v wire?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
Richard

You will not have good result if you change connectors, i.e. splice wires
Take new coil back or sell it and get correct coil pack
OEM for 2008 3.0l should be Motorcraft DG-532
Over the years from 1995 to 2005 the 3.0l Vulcan engine used DG-533, and DG-535, so connector changed with coil pack type
DG-532 is listed for 2008, 2008 was last year of the 3.0l vulcan engine
But check images of the coil packs, side connector and top connector were both used, you need to match that as well since that will match wiring.
I believe the center 2 wires were the same on all V6 coil packs but the outside 2 were swapped on the different models
never seen a "black wire" on a Ford coil pack connector, only ever seen 1 red wire for the 12volts
