Air filter MAF housing
Air filter MAF housing
I’m fixing my wrecked 95 ranger 3.0L. The air filter housing that houses the maf sensor is broken. Is the housing necessary? It’s the bullet shaped housing. I can’t find it new unless I’m looking in the wrong places. A lot of others are a box shape. Is there a way to cheaply connect the maf to the intake tube and filter without costing a lot? Where might I find the housing cheap?
Try car-part.com
Just enter your info, i.e. 1995 Ford Ranger
And the part you want: Air box/air cleaner
And your Zipcode
Then Search
Then select 3.0l engine size
Found quite a few in my area
There are also pictures of the whole vehicle so there may be other bits and pieces you want, lol

Yea, i have done that for several body parts needed. Found one with most all parts about an hour away. Cheaper than paying shipping, but have actually been able to adjust sheet metal and repair all body parts so far. Things like radiator, fan clutch, etc. I have found new on rock auto. I had wondered if I could just delete that part of the air filter box altogether.
Yes, you can delete the box, but its better to get fresh air from the hole behind the grill, i.e. "Cold Air Intake" which is why the air box was used, but no running issues without the box and pulling in engine bay air
