Al4d trans removal help
Al4d trans removal help :Updated
I have 1990 Ford Ranger A4LD 2WD that is SHOT DUE TO A COOLANT LEAK AT THE. RIGHT HEATING CORE HOSE (AS WELL I HAVE FIXED THIS BY TRIMMING THE TIP OFF HASNT LEAKED SINCE.
i have a guy delivering a new/used transmission today, i have a few quick additional questions since the new transmission has 63k on it and was pulled from an 89 mustang this should insure it wasnt abused via towing.
I am wandering if changing the filter is a bad idea however i will be flushing it with either seafoam trans tune never used in a trans before or using bhardal transmission & engine flush last time i used this product was on my 75 ford ranchero 400m had great results at the time.
Now due to the prev trans being fried, the coverter will need to be flushed on its sitting fluid to clean.
Should the filter be replaced?
I still have warrenty on my last filter so i could probably take that one out and get a replacement.

Either pull the engine and tranny out the top, or rent a tranny jack and go out the bottom.
If you have a shop with enough room & you think you might want to replace engine seals and exahust seals... just yank both out the top. Sometimes its actually easier to go out the top then to spend time on your back and wrestling a tranny in/out

Plan on going out the bottom this will be road side by my storage ive seen a guy drop his manual out on youtube like it wasnt crap except it wasnt manual amd he didnt even have a jack he slid his out via knee and lower.
Ive got a theory on how the trans went in the first place...
"I had a heating core leak via hose in am and after high load riding to pick my kids up....
Due to how high up one of the cooler lines sit and draining below half twice resulted in overheating the trans." Good thing there slip yoke ...
which makes the work entirely easier id do a stick but still under a biking injury " nerve damage to right arm c7" so until this appointment ive been 1 arming a lot of jobs ..been about 3 months as of tommorow.
No pain but my arm dont lift just pulls backward.
Ill get r done as long as i have a transmission and motive.
Will this need pump syncing as plan on ditching the old torque converter as i here once trans goes the converter destroys its self along with it.
The motor has no leaks other then me blowing the old oil pressure sensor which i have a new one waiting in the glove box.
