just thought i would say this. you can ask and ask about mileage but you will just get a adverage mpg cus everyone drives different even if they are light on the pedal cus "light" could be different to anybody and as far as city goes, i am in the city but its not that populated one so im not realy stop and go, while my brother is in big city and is stop and go, stop and go. so he doesnt get near the mpg i am gettnig so city is different anywhere. my .02

1999 ranger 4wd , got 16 and 19 in summer, went to straight unleaded regular and increased to 19 and 21.5 in summer, with 3.0 engine. we have a 2000 identical set up but cannot get better than 15 and 18. fuel man said that you pay 3% more than alcohol for regular unleaded but get 10% more mileage, on my truck it proved to be true.

Does it have bigger tires? Back when my truck was stock I was pulling in 20 highway/16 city.

When I had the stock 245/75/16s on my 2000 3.0 4-speed auto, I was getting about 20 Highway, 15 city, but now with the 265/75/16s, I'm getting about 14 and 18. I'm only estimating this based on my known driving mileage, because I haven't recalibrated yet for the larger tires.

JayeDee, in order to know you're actual mileage, you need to drive a known distance and do the calculation. Your speedo may be off as well, because the previous owner may not have had it calibrated after increasing the tire size.

It has been calibrated and I have drove it on the highway for a distance and I got roughly 22 to 23 that was without my 4x4 driveshaft in, but with mixed driving and the 4x4 driveshaft in it drinks fuel. I believe I should be getting better fuel mileage?
