Belt and Underdrive Pulley

I am needing to replace my belt because it squeaks really bad upon startup if I am wanting to get an underdrive pully would this be the best time to put one on. Also what about an e-fan should I just do it all in one bang?

Well what I was wondering is would I have to remove the same stuff to put those on as the belt. I cant think of a right way to put this question.

well to put the belt on you dont remove anything but the old belt... and you can do the underdrive with out removing anything as well... so getting the efan yoou would just have to remove the old fan i think...

DZK sells them on RPS for $75 including shipping, I got mine form him and it's awesome! You can install the U/D pulley if you change your belt, BUT YOU WILL NEED A SMALLER BELT (run a search on RPS for the correct size or check out RangerBill's site)! You simply take off the old U/D pulley (very bottom pulley, 4 screws) and install the new one. It's best to install an electric fan at the same time, since the ol' clutch fan will keep hitting your knuckles when you remove and install the pulley. You'll notice more power, especially at higher RPM's.

Note: If you have a big sound system, lotsa offroad lights or a lot of accessories running off the battery, I'd get a more powerful alternator (Tremor to 200AMP, XLT to 130AMP...might have to read your current to make sure). This is because your alternator won't be charging as much with the smaller pulley.

If you need to buy a belt, this would be a very good time to change the pulley. Why spend the money twice. Here is a how-to on a pulley install. As you can see, it is done without removing the fan. The how-to also has a dyno showing the gains.

Get the pulley from Graniteguy and the fans from Bob(Soundper4mance), best way to save money.

The hardest part of the whole process is getting the old fan off and the most tedious is the wiring of the fans. All in all, its easy and should net you maybe 2 mpg and a few horses.

I believe RPS already has a write up in their 3.0 board, if not run a search for the install- it's actually pretty easy
