Coolant Temp SENDER pigtail

Does anyone have or know where I can get the one wire pigtail for the coolant temperature sender? I find lots of the 2 wire sensor pigtails but no sender pigtails.
When putting everything back together last weekend from doing the heads and gaskets mine was damaged. My other option is local salvage yards but a new one would be much better.

I think 1998 was the last year of the 1 wire temp sender, but connector types did change over the years, stud and spade were used in older years

Sometimes you can buy sensors or senders with connector, sometimes

Other than that you may need to hit wrecking yards

Mine is a June of 1999 and one wire. I'll probably have to go to salvage yard. Right now I have the terminal plugged in and taped it up. I would rather have the actual plug so it stays! LOL

My diagrams show 1999 as 2 wire, but doesn't matter that much

If you can get a sender with 2 wire pigtail then you just need to hookup the red/white wire and Ground the other wire, the black/white wire
Ford switched to 2 wire because they were using more plastic cooling system parts so no longer had metal to metal ground for temp senders on all models so they just switch all senders over to 2 wire
But all the senders worked the same way, the gauges were the same

Just a heads up, the senders are 12volt units, the ECT sensors are 5volt, so not at all interchangeable

Parts guys like to give out ECT sensors instead of Senders, so if you go 2 wire that makes it even harder for them, lol, all sensors are 2 wire

Sender has a cylinder shaped end that goes into the coolant
ECT sensor uses a cone shaped end

10-4

I did replace the sender and you're right, the parts "Guys" can't grasp the difference between Sender and Sensor!! I did get the correct Sender.

All the pigtails should still be available on RockAuto.

Hey guys. I have a one wire sender on my 03 ranger edge. I am replacing the sender and connector because it is bad. The pig tail I got for the sender connector from rock auto is 2 wire. How do you ground out the other wire? Sry if dumb question.

Thats odd

Assuming temp sender not oil pressure sender

In 1999 Ford switched Rangers over to 2 wire temp senders because they were starting to use plastic parts on cooling system which do not make for good grounds, lol

But yes all you have to do is to ground what should be a black or black/white wire on the connector to any good ground point, on engine or ???
The red/white wire is the signal to dash temp gauge
