Cruise Control
Cruise Control
I bought some new cruise control buttons from eBay. Mine were old and chipped up and I wanted new ones. After I installed them I tested them out. Not only did they not work, but I had a few lights show up. I also had a weird issue, when I press the "Cruise" button my horn sounds. Any ideas for a solution? When I unplug them and just leave them in I lose my horn. I got in contact with the seller, but they aren't much help. I will probably end up buying a new one.
Welcome to the forum
You should post the YEAR of your Ranger and engine size with any questions
If you are trying to match wire colors it won't work, wiring varied by year, cruise buttons are not a "user serviceable part" so Ford never had standard wiring
I will post 1998 Cruise as an example
NCA = no color assigned, which means any color wire thats handy was used
Clock spring assembly is a ribbon type wire that is wound up like a clock spring, hence the name, lol, it allows steering wheel to turn while the wiring stays connected
You have wires connected wrong, but hard to say which is which
The horn is activated by Grounding it at the steering wheel
