Cruise control not working.

Cruise control not working.
My cruise control recently stopped working. I tried to use it one morning and it just would work. No flashing lights or nothing. I test voltage imput to that contraption the cable comes from, inspected cable for breaks, checked fuses and tested the control buttons for resistance. The "Off", "Set acel", "Coast", and "Resume" buttons had the right amount of resistance. What don't work is the "On" button (reads open) or the horn. On a wiring diagram the "On" button and horn appear to wired in series with a security module. Obviously the that can't be cuz then the cruise would only working the horn blasting (which don't work either cuz i tried it). The ground must be through the security module. But i can't find it. Anyone got any ideas?

If the horn and cruise don't work, i'd be looking at a new clock spring. Depending on how the airbag is deployed (assuming you dont have a airbag light on, right?)
anyway, could be a partially broken clock spring. May just be easier to trace your horn wiring. Horn button should be a ground input to the relay. Check for that, if you get nothing...i'd lean twords the spring myself.

same problem
with my '00 4X2 with RWAB
Is your ABS light on also?
Problem was a bad pinion sensor on the rear end, it doubles as a speed sensor for the cruise as well as an input signal for the RWAB
Changed it out (very EZ) , voila! no ABS light and cruise works like a charm
Hope this helps

hahaha
anyways, i know this sounds simple but could it be a fuse? Im helping a buddy of mine later today cause his cruise, horn, and dash clock stopped working in his 97 pathfinder.

This probably isn't the problem but it has happened to me. I drive a stick and one day coming home from school i went to put the cruise on and it wouldn't work, and i always has. Through trial and error i found out it was because my clutch foot was putting the slightest bit of pressure on the clutch. Because you know when you drive a stick your clutch foot is usually in the ready position.
