Dummy me

i had to take my distributor cap off my 2.9 ranger and didnt leave the plug wires on. im gonna have to replace the cap but dont know what wires go where or even which way the cap goes back on the motor does the mark 1 face to the passenger side or the drivers side and what is the firing order. does the distributor turn clockwise or counter clockwise? as you all can see IM NOT A MECHANI

This is the factory setup, so would depend on the last person who worked on distributor and set base timing

Thanks Ron now another question standing in front of the truck looking down at the motor what is the number sequence of the cylinders? for example the number for the first cylinder on the left side. then the number to the 2nd cylinder let side and so on? thanks again

The reference Ron sent you answers your question, you would be standing on the right side of that diagram looking to the left. The diagram shows the engine from a top view with the front being on the right. So your number one cylinder is the first one on the passenger side as you are standing in front of the truck looking at the engine. Hope this helps you out.
