Hazard Lights

This literally started happening a few days ago. I was waiting for a friend of mine. I put my truck in Neutral, had the brakes on, and turned on the hazard lights. The lights just stayed on. They didnt blink at all. When I got home that night, I had my truck on a hill and set the parking break and let my foot off the break. I turned the flashers on and they started blinking. I was thinking WTF... must be a fluke... A couple of days later I tried the flashers again, on the hill. this time I had the brake on and the flashers stayed on. I let go of the brake, and they started to flash. So now I dont know what to do. I dont wanna tear my truck apart trying to find something that is easy to fix. But I want a poll from people who think they might know what is wrong. So any ideas would be very helpful. thanks for your time and knowledge guys!

I know the mid 90's Chev 1500's are like this. We had a few work trucks that when you had the hazard lights on and hit the brake pedal, the hazards stopped flashing.
On my 01. I can have the hazards on and they will still flash with my foot on the brake. Obviously the 3rd brake light stays lit to indicate the brake is depressed.

It's supposed to do that. My 90 Ranger is the same way.

I just read my manual. I apologize for the inconveniences that I put you all through. You are right SVT. It does it normally. My bad folks.
