I am new to the forum, so let me first say hello to everyone here. Now on to the reason for this post. I have a 1999 extended cab 3-door with the Flex Fuel 3.0. Lately it has been running hot and acting strange. The water pump and thermostat have been replaced recently. This morning, upon starting the truck, it started running rough and pouring white smoke out of the exhaust. There is also a good deal of water dripping from the tail pipe and from the exhaust underneath the truck where a bolt is broken. I am pretty sure it is a head gasket but am just here to get some more opinions on what it is for sure. What do you guys think??? Thanks for the help.

 

Pull the spark plugs and have a looksee. Sounds like you hit it right though. How many miles?

Went ahead and tore it down today and sure enough, it is the driver side head gasket. Thanks for the replies. I will get a headset gasket kit and start putting her back together.
