Heater Control Vacuum Line

Hi guys. I have seen other posts on this issue so here’s mine. I have no heat in the cabin. When I went exploring I found a broken gray line on the left side of the engine compartment . With help from this forum I figured out it goes to,the heater control valve although I could not figure how it attached. As recommended on here, I found a small vacuum tube to use to connect the broken line to the control valve. I was really hoping that was the issue. Of course, still no heat. I found a little vacuum tube pack (each one about 2 inches long) and picked the one that I really had to push hard on to get it to slide on both the broken line and the control valve so I think I have a good seal. Now I’m perplexed! Can anyone help? And Happy Thanksgiving all.
