Hey all I’m looking to get an engine for a 2004 ranger it currently has a locked up 3.0 and I need an engine I can drop in its place. I am in Oklahoma let me know if you have one local you will sell! Please and thank you!

 

1991-2008 3.0l from a Ranger/Mazda B3000 will work, long block, so swap over your 2004 intake and accessories, so wiring and hoses match up

 

A Taurus motor will work to just has a few more things that have to be swapped.

 

Need to change the head gaskets to use a Taurus/Sable 3.0l in a Ranger, the cooling system is different when an engine is mounted sideways vs longways

 

Exactly and it also needs the oil pump and oil pan swapped with the one off the ranger and one other thing I can’t remember off the top of my head.

 

Ive read taurus motors need head gaskets changed, oil pan and oil pick up changed and timing cover needs changed. And of course the lower intake and upper plenium need to be swapped. And maybe the ranger flexplate needs to be used.
