Heater will not blow hot?

My heat will not blow hot on my 99 3.0L ranger. I purchased a new thermostat but I have not installed. The temp gauge barely gets to the line BELOW cold even when motor is warmed up. Help please? I'm tired or freezing my **** off.

replaced the thermostat, heat blows hot for a few seconds but returns to cool. the temperature gauge still reads cold after motor is well warmed up, but after I flip the heat on it quickly drops lower.

Have you checked your heater core?

look for wetness on the floor or in the general area of the heater core. Possibly back flush the heater core...you'd be surprised what will come out of it. Google how to back flush the heater core.

check the coolant level and bleed the system...start the truck with the rad cap off with the heat on full blast...revving the engine occasionally
