Help on driveshaft removal

Forgot to put my ranger in nuetral so I can remove driveshaft. Already took apart engine and wire harness. I then reconnected the wire harness for just trans (side and top of transmission), battery, shift linkage. Now It wont go into nuetral what's recommended for me to check and or any recommendations to get driveshaft off.
Help greatly appreciated as always. THANKS! Dylan

Turn the key and shift it into neutral. The only thing keeping it from moving into neutral is the key position.

If it isn't allowing you to move it when you do that, something else is wrong.

I assume you have the rear wheels off the ground, correct?

If this is a 4x4, transfer case needs to be in neutral as well.

It is 2WD. I have rear wheels off ground and key in ignition shifted through each gear and driveshaft still doesn't move freely. Went underneath and moved the shifter lever manually and felt 5 clicks and checked driveshaft after each click and dirveshaft still locked up not moving free
