Junkyard ABS Module and pump
Junkyard ABS Module and pump
I got a salvaged abs pump/module today from a local salvage yard today that deals mostly with trucks for $75 for my 2002 Ranger 2 wd drive .
I am replacing all 3 speed sensors also, already have the rear one in and the others should be here tomorrow. I have inspected all the wiring beyond the plugs and don't see a thing wrong.
I am going to try to install everything tomorrow. I am going to just try to bleed the brakes normaly and hope for the best since my new Actron CP9680 scanner doesn't do half what it claims to and from what I have read on the internet most scanners in this price range most of them don't do ABS or SRS on older Fords and Chryslers despite their claims after even contacting their customer service first which I did..
I know an expensive Snap on will read them because there is a youtube video doing it on a 2002 just like mine.
Are there any special tricks to bleeding these things? I have blown brake lines on some GM cars and the master cyl was empty. I fixed the lines and just bled them normaly and the brakes were good and the light out on them.
I have read from others that advance and autozone have a more advanced scanner than the ones they sell that you can borrow with a $249 dollar deposit which they then refund when you bring it back. I have a feeling it's probably just the same $249 scanner they have for sale which I already bought from them. Anybody know any information on this.
I can't see them lending out a couple thousand dollar scanner that Reads and Bleeds ABS on everything for just a $249 deposit can you?
If this doesn't fix this light I think the truck is going to go despite that being it's only major flaw I'm not comfortable fixing, even the air cond. works perfect in the truck and I really like it otherwise. But it has to pass md. inspection.
