looking for a rare animal

there is a little piece missing from the top left end, which is just a bit of rubber where the hose clamps down

i am on the hunt for an air intake rigid hose for a 1991 ford ranger xlt 3.0L v6. i found one about a year ago on a parts website. it was Ford NOS and there was only one available(now nowhere to be found, not by me at least). the price was around $100+. at the time i had mine rigged up and it wasn't giving me any trouble. so because of money issues i declined to purchase it then. cut to a year later and the rig has become unfit and ive got a major tear in one of the ends. so this part is basically trash now i think. my engine started puttering out on a long dusty trip. i pulled over only to realise i was about to reach some hills. had to climb the hills from a stand still and the truck wasnt the same since. come to find out it was that a tear on the hose had opened up, i couldn't see it at the time because it was so dark and dusty( and happened to be on the underside of hose). so right now she currently sits in front of the hose, undriveable. very sad. n its is my only vehicle...im borrowing from family rn.
i have come here to ask if anyone knows where i can find one of these or something that will work just as well. as You can see it has to be thin or else itll come into contact with the engine fan. any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. take care Y'all, from New Mexico
p.s. ive called salvage yards all around the state and no luck yet. still looking and ive got a few leads to follow

I think I have one! I bought one about 2 years ago for my wifes 99 and it was the wrong one. It's used but in good condition. I'll check when I get home to see if it's the same.

Here's two listings I found of trucks that I believe have the 3.0 based on the vin number.

1992, but looks to be a 3.0

https://www.ebay.com/itm/Grille-Excl...temCondition=4

Vin says this truck has a 3.0

https://www.ebay.com/itm/Passenger-R...temCondition=4

Right on, I can use all the leads I can get right now.
Because at this point it's looking like I may just have to repair it with some hvac tape or fiber tape. Obviously I need something that can withstand high temperatures. Do You have any experience with that kind of stuff?
I'll call around to some Texas junkyards n see if I have any luck.
Thanks for Your help!

You would only need something that would withstand general engine bay temps, which aren't necessarily extreme.

Maybe something like this?

Man I'm sorry to say it but the intake hose I have is different that yours. Not even close enough to make it work.

Man, You really came in clutch with this one. Just so happened that I had went to o'reilly's n the store clerk acted like a jerk. He said "all I've got is duct tape and electric tape." N I proceed to explain what I was fixing and ask for a fiber or metal tape. He looked at me like I was an idiot n said no. I walked out cussing. When I got home I saw Your post n called the store up. Not gonna lie I had a few choice words for him. But all in all You saved the day tbh. It took a lil frankensteining with that tape, a rubber boot and hose clamps but my truck is running like a champ now. Much appreciated, mate!

I'm glad that worked for you in the mean time. It's probably not a permanent fix, but may get you by until you can source the parts you need.
