Icon4 my 1994 xlt ranger is dead, help!

the other day my serpentine belt broke. so I parked it until I had time to fix. then my truck was driven the next day (not by me), not knowing anything was wrong other than it was very hard to steer. today I replaced the belt and took it for a spin. about a mile into the drive my engine started to loose power, ping very loudly, and run extreamly rough. then all of a sudden it stopped running. it is now on the side of the road and wont start. wont even turn over. I turn the key and just one loud click and that's it. I'm thinking my engine is seized. can some one please give me some hope its just something minor?

Welcome to the forum

Battery light would have also been on, and of course the water pump, the big thing, would not have been working, so engine would have started to overheat within 4 to 5 minutes

How long was the engine running without a water pump?

If it got very hot I am sure who ever was driving it would have noticed that.
But yes overheated engine blows heads gaskets, cracks heads and can cause spun main bearings.

Is it an automatic or Manual trans?

If manual try bump starting

If auto get a socket wrench that fits crank bolt and see if you can turn crank
