I have a 1976 Ford Capri that the motor in is was built by a local company, Cary Auto and Marine years back, in Cary IL . The original owner was from Barrington, IL
The build was based on a Bill Stroppe Off Road racing Ranger circa 1980's- 1990's
The motor started as a 2.8, has a 2.9 crank and over bore for total of 3 liters. I tried the get a hold of Stroppe's son's business, but I think they are gone.
From some of the specs I been told on it, it used Boss 302 rods. It has an Offy 4 bbl intake and Holley 390 cfm carb, an 8 qt Ed Hamburger oil pan and a Mallory distributor and coil and ballast resistor (no Ford computer)
What I'm looking for is any other info on these builds, cam specs, compression/piston manufacturer.
Any info would be appreciated, maybe there's some desert guys with Rangers that know of these motors
