Hello! Lifelong Ford owner. Actually 3rd generation. Ford retiree after 34 years service.. Have a low 12 sec heavily modded 02 Lightning and a 94 Mustang from the Bondurant Road Racing School. Next project is looking to convert a Ranger to a v8 stick shift non-electronic ignition fun vehicle. I would love to find info on how-to a 4x4, but would settle for a 2wd if I have to. My initial thoughts are a 98 Ford Explorer 5.0 (GT40P heads and switch over intake to a carb) but I am very open to those with better options and links to conversion parts. I see lots of conversion motor mounts on ebay, etc., but would love to correspond with any/all who have actually DONE a V8 conversion and learn from their experiences.
