intake combined w/exhaust

I know this has probably been posted already, but I was wondering how much more effective a CAI or any intake is combined with an exhaust vs just the intake itself without exhaust or just the exhaust without the intake? I already have my exhaust welded on and am considering getting a intake as long as it provides a noticeable difference in power. How well do the two work together to free up some horsepower and torque? Thanks

Ive seen dynos of the K&N getting 11hp on a 4.0L. Id say exhaust probably is about 5-10 hp with a free flow muffler (borla, magnaflow). Combine the two you probably get 15 hp or so increase overall. Intake will make the exhaust louder too.

The more air u can bring in and push out the more power u make.. But if u can bring in enough to compensate from a open flow exhaust u will loose torque from Lose of backpressure.. With exhaust and a intake will make the most improvment...
