I have a 95 Ranger with a 3.0 that made it to 240,000 miles and through a rod through the oil pan so now i have to put an engine in it and need to know if some of the 3.0 engines from other ford product will bolt in and work

 

I'm pretty sure the block and heads are the same from a Taurus.
Just need everything else, exhaust manifolds, alt a/c etc.

 

ya did this about a week ago took me 2 days. just make sure its a vulcan block and your good to go :)

 

My tranny is a mazda 5-speed... it went out on me last year. So I changed the engine on it too cause it had a big *** crack in the block. Had 180k on the engine and tranny... both were original.

 

I've read that the head gaskets are different on the Taurus
engine, and have to be changed out to the ranger gaskets.
The water passages are different, and overheating will
occur if they're not changed.....

Not a big deal though, with the engine already out.
