Revving at stop?
Revving at stop?
ok guys, i got an issue tonight when driving home from work.
truck was warmed up and i am coming to a light. I push the clutch in, and shift into neutral before the light, as soon as i do, the rpm's slowly rise to 4k.
Then they slowly return to normal. I turned truck off and back on and it drove home fine the rest of the way, and rpms were normal at all lights after that one.
Any ideas?

thanks.

Try cleaning the idle air control valve. It's on the intake manifold. You just remove two bolts and an electrical connector to get it off. Spray the inside of it with electronic parts cleaner, let it dry out, then put it back on.
Alan nailed it.
I had the same problem on my old 2.5L 5-spd. Cleaned all the electrical parts on the intake of the truck (sensors on the intake tube, MAF, pats on the intake manifold itself) and that seemed to fix it.
MAF parts cleaner and electrical parts cleaner, found at any auto parts store should do the trick. Parts get dirty and sensors can't read things correctly throwing internal codes that can be fixed easily.
