Ford Ranger splash 1995 V6 3.0L
Hi everybody,My Ford Ranger transmission is having a serious problem .Let me tell you : While driving suddently it feels like it was breaking feels like if the emergency brake was pushed to the limit ,feels in the back tires only this breaking is so strong that it almost stop my pickup is incredible i push the gas pedal to increase power to avoid stop, this happens intermittently i stop my Ranger and i decided to take to the shop i explain to the mechanic technician about the problem have no idea of what happened but decide to repair and try to find the problem.,the Ranger was repaired and he told me that found that the oil pump was damaged and the valve body. I return to the road again and guess what ,it happens again.
Has any of you experimented this problem? Or have an idea of what is happening? is there something external hooked to the transmission that can cause the problem?
Last time I had a problem like that it was the brake master cylinder causing my rear brakes to engage. Had a problem with a motorcycle with the front wheel dragging... master cylinder. Might want to look in to that.. especially if you have ABS. My wife had a bad habit of driving with her foot resting on the brake pedal which really didn't help the matter. I guess brake fluid was somehow leaking past the seals on the MC allowing the wheel cylinders to expand.
My Ranger have anti lock on the rear wheels probably disconnecting the anti lock system .,the master cylinder control also the front breaking and i feel this pull, very strong pull , only on the rear.

Yes, the master cylinder controls both front and rear brakes, but each has their own part in the master cylinder usually. Are there any warning dash lights illuminated?
With no warning lights, it is most likely a mechanical problem. If you can't do some diagnosing, it will be difficult for anyone to help you on a forum.
Update after all those years ,ooops! sorry for the very late answer to my problem .The problem was found by a mechanic in a shop he use a scanner and found that is not the transmission not the engine the problem was the MAF sensor once replaced the problem vanished ,now is running flawlessly. wow! was really an easy repair....once founded..
Thanks to all for your answers and help
