i have heard and read about them. will it make a difference on a 3.0? i have to redo the exhaust soon for emissions testing. will it make a difference in power. i dont care about noise as much

 

It will sound a like a pig with IBS. And be just as slow as before, just louder.

 

are they more expensive than just getting a 40 series? or should i just get a pos turneys muffler?

You can get a 2 chamber flow for 20-30 bucks.

There is an old guy that came to lowes a couple times and he had a 3.0 with a Cherry bomb and it sounded really good. It was the stock exhaust, just with a glasspack instead of the muffler.

 

i vote NO!! it will sound like crap

 

I bought a muffler made by the cherry bomb mfg called Turbo 2 ($21) or something along those lines...it sounds pretty good on my 3.0L dumped right before the axle...I don't know how it'd sound with the rest of an exhaust pipe, but it'd have a nice growl, and minimal cackle which is why I have it...it's very deep. I'll try to get a sound clip sometime this year.

 

I was just about to mention the turbo II. You can get them at most auto part stores too. I've been told they're pretty much a cheap flowmaster. I'm on my 2nd one on my 2.3. Started off with a cherry bomb but it eventually rusted out.

 

Gotta glass pack on my 2.9ner. with about 6 inches of pipe between the cats and the cherrybonb with a 4 inch chrome tip dumps just 6 iches behind cab sound really deep. But probably because its dumps under the truck. With the stock lenght exhaust it sounds crappy.
