Silicone Vacuum Hose...?
Silicone Vacuum Hose...?
Hello..As the vacuum hoses on my Ranger is brittle/breaking and worn, what are you guys thoughts on the silicone type hose that some uses for vacuum lines..?..if good, what are the best and from where do I get some..? ( reasonable..
..)

Silicone is more heat resistant than "rubber" or hard plastic vacuum hoses, and costs more, which is why factory doesn't use it
Local auto parts stores should sell different sizes by the foot, you will also need some 90deg fittings of correct size on some engines/hoses, you don't want to bend a hose that far
Vacuum is negative pressure so PULLS connections together, which is why you don't see clamps on the hoses, but they do need to be the correct size to have a good friction hold and seal, on the port and device they connect to
