Is the stock ecu tunable

I have a 1999 b3000 and I want to do a pops and bang tune but I don’t know if the stock Ecu can be tuned or would I have to buy a standalone ecu

Yes, 1999 Ranger/B3000 uses an EEC-V Ford computer so is tuneable, whether or not it is worth it is debateable

No car maker "detunes" an engine, they sell "performance"
But they do have to meet emissions requirements for the year the vehicle was made(unless its a VW, lol), so there might be some room for improvement

NO...............I do not know anyone that does tuning

Call local speed shops, they may know locals that tune Ford PCMs(engine computers)
If you have an automatic ask about changing shift points
